The 2026 Ford Maverick gives Edmonton drivers the everyday convenience of a compact vehicle with the open-bed versatility of a pickup truck. Its manageable size makes it easy to drive through the city, while its standard SuperCrew cabin, flexible cargo box, and available all-wheel-drive and 4WD systems help it handle work, recreation, and changing Alberta road conditions.
The 2026 Maverick lineup includes XL, XLT, Lobo, Lariat, and Tremor models. Buyers can choose between a 2.5L hybrid powertrain and a 2.0L EcoBoost gas engine, depending on the selected trim. Front-wheel drive, all-wheel drive, and Advanced 4WD configurations are available across the lineup.
Every Maverick has a four-door SuperCrew cabin and Ford's FLEXBED pickup box, which can be equipped with tie-down rails, bedliners, tonneau covers, storage accessories, and other equipment for work or weekend use.

The 2026 Maverick introduces new colour, connectivity, and equipment choices while retaining its hybrid, street-performance, and off-road configurations.
New for 2026, the 2.0L EcoBoost engine can be ordered with front-wheel drive on base XL and XLT trims, in addition to the all-wheel drive setups available across the lineup.
Light Blue and Orange Fury Metallic Tri-Coat join the available exterior colour selection. Power-sliding rear window availability has also shifted for 2026: it's now optional (rather than standard) on Lariat and Tremor, and newly optional on select XLT and Maverick Lobo configurations.
A new Ford Connectivity Package includes features such as an available Wi-Fi hotspot, audio and video streaming, a voice assistant, and entertainment services. An initial one-year access period is included on eligible vehicles, while a one-time-purchase option can provide access for up to seven years on the original vehicle.
The 2026 order guide also updates spare-tire availability by trim and powertrain, and adjusts the content of the XLT Luxury Package and FX4 Off-Road Package. Exact Canadian equipment and package availability depends on the trim, powertrain, and equipment group.
The 2.5L hybrid combines a gasoline engine with an electric motor and a power-split electric continuously variable transmission.
Front-wheel drive is standard with the hybrid powertrain on XL and XLT, while all-wheel drive is available. The Maverick Lariat can also be equipped with the hybrid, paired with standard all-wheel drive.
The Maverick hybrid is not a plug-in vehicle. Its battery is charged while driving and through regenerative braking, so it doesn't need to be connected to an external charging station.
For Edmonton drivers who spend much of their time commuting, running errands, or travelling within the city, the hybrid provides an alternative to a conventional gas-only compact truck.
The available 2.0L EcoBoost engine is paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission on Maverick XL, XLT, and Lariat models. New for 2026, EcoBoost can be ordered with front-wheel drive on base XL and XLT trims, alongside the all-wheel drive setups available elsewhere in the lineup and standard on Lariat.
The 2.0L EcoBoost is also used in the Maverick Lobo and Tremor, although each model receives its own transmission, drivetrain, and chassis setup.
Maverick Lobo pairs the EcoBoost engine with a seven-speed Quick Shift transmission and Advanced 4WD. Maverick Tremor uses an eight-speed automatic transmission with Advanced 4WD and equipment developed for off-road driving.
The Maverick offers several drivetrain configurations designed for different types of driving.
Front-wheel drive is standard with the hybrid powertrain on XL and XLT. Hybrid all-wheel drive is available on both models, while all-wheel drive is standard on Maverick Lariat.
The EcoBoost engine pairs with front-wheel drive on base XL and XLT trims (new for 2026) or all-wheel drive across the lineup, and is standard with all-wheel drive on Lariat. Maverick Lobo and Tremor use Ford's Advanced 4WD system with a twin-clutch rear drive unit.
Advanced 4WD allows the Lobo and Tremor to direct power between the rear wheels to support their specialized performance goals. Lobo is tuned for handling and paved-road performance, while Tremor is designed for traction and control on trails and loose surfaces.
The 2026 Ford Maverick offers increased towing capability when properly configured with a compatible powertrain, all-wheel drive, and the available 4K Tow Package.
The available 4K Tow Package can be added to eligible XL, XLT, and Lariat models (Ford Co-Pilot360 is required on XL and XLT to add this package). Package equipment includes:
Actual towing capacity depends on the individual truck, powertrain, drivetrain, equipment, passengers, cargo, and trailer setup. The rating of the specific Maverick should always be confirmed with Koch Ford Lincoln before towing.
Select 2026 Maverick configurations provide a maximum available payload capacity of up to 1,500 lbs.
Payload ratings vary by engine, drivetrain, and trim. The hybrid AWD, Lobo, and Tremor have different ratings because of their powertrain and specialized equipment.
The Maverick can be a useful choice for carrying home-improvement supplies, sports equipment, camping gear, landscaping materials, and other everyday cargo without requiring the size of a full-size pickup.
Every 2026 Maverick includes Ford's FLEXBED Storage System.
Six standard tie-down points help secure cargo, while additional tie-down rails and locking brackets are available.
Depending on the selected model and equipment, available bed features include:
The tailgate and box can accommodate a wide range of cargo layouts, making the Maverick useful for bikes, tools, camping equipment, and household projects.
The available 4K Tow Package increases the Maverick's maximum available towing capacity when paired with a compatible engine and all-wheel-drive configuration. On XL and XLT, it requires Ford Co-Pilot360.
In addition to its hitch and trailer connections, the package adds an integrated brake controller, upgraded cooling, and a conventional spare tire.
The FX4 Off-Road Package is available on eligible Maverick XLT models equipped with the XLT Luxury Package, and can't be combined with the Black Appearance Package.
FX4 equipment includes:
FX4 provides additional trail equipment without requiring buyers to move to the more specialized Maverick Tremor.
The Maverick Lobo is the street-performance model in the 2026 lineup.
It combines a 2.0L EcoBoost engine with Advanced 4WD and a seven-speed Quick Shift transmission. Paddle shifters give the driver additional control, while model-specific steering, brakes, suspension, and ride height distinguish the Lobo from other Maverick models.
Lobo Drive Mode gives drivers another selectable setting tuned for the Lobo's performance goals. The truck also receives a unique front fascia, black-painted roof, painted body components, and 19-inch turbofan-style black wheels.
Lobo comes standard with:
The Lobo is designed for drivers who want a practical compact pickup with sharper on-road handling and distinctive street styling.
The Maverick Tremor is the most off-road-focused model in the lineup.
It includes the 2.0L EcoBoost engine, Advanced 4WD, and a twin-clutch rear drive unit with an electronically controlled rear lock. Its off-road-tuned suspension provides increased ride height, while model-specific springs and shocks help the truck manage rougher terrain.
Additional Tremor equipment includes:
Tremor also includes much of the comfort and technology found in the Maverick Lariat, including heated seating, advanced driver assistance, and a premium interior.
Every 2026 Maverick includes SYNC 4 with a 13.2-inch centre touchscreen.
Standard connectivity includes wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, cloud-connected functionality, Ford App access, and USB ports in the front and rear seating areas.
Available or included technology can also provide:
Connected services require activation and can be affected by network availability, service plans, and vehicle equipment.
The 2026 Maverick includes several standard driver-assistance technologies, with additional systems available through Ford Co-Pilot360 packages or higher trims.
Standard and available features include:
Lariat and higher Lobo equipment groups also include Pro Trailer Backup Assist and Pro Trailer Hitch Assist.
These systems are designed to assist the driver. They do not replace attentive driving, safe decision-making, or proper control of the truck and trailer.
The Maverick XL provides the practical foundation of the lineup. It includes the 2.5L hybrid powertrain, front-wheel drive, a SuperCrew cabin, FLEXBED storage, and a 13.2-inch SYNC 4 touchscreen.
Available equipment includes hybrid all-wheel drive, the 2.0L EcoBoost engine (with front-wheel or all-wheel drive), Ford Co-Pilot360, and the 4K Tow Package.
The XLT adds aluminum wheels, a power-locking tailgate, additional bed tie-downs, passenger-side bed storage, and Intelligent Access with push-button start.
Available packages can add heated seats, a heated steering wheel, Pro Power Onboard, FX4 equipment (with the XLT Luxury Package), the 4K Tow Package, and Black Appearance styling.
The Lobo adds street-performance tuning to the Maverick platform. It includes the EcoBoost engine, Advanced 4WD, seven-speed Quick Shift transmission, paddle shifters, and model-specific steering, brakes, and suspension.
Unique exterior styling, a black-painted roof, and 19-inch wheels give the Lobo a distinct appearance.
The Lariat combines compact-truck versatility with additional comfort and technology.
Standard features include heated ActiveX-trimmed front seats, a heated steering wheel, dual-zone climate control, B&O audio, spray-in bedliner, Pro Power Onboard, a 360-Degree Camera, and Adaptive Cruise Control.
The Lariat is available with EcoBoost or hybrid power and standard all-wheel drive.
The Tremor adds Advanced 4WD, an electronically lockable rear drive unit, off-road suspension, increased ride height, skid plates, all-terrain tires, and trail-driving technology.
It's the strongest choice in the Maverick lineup for buyers who regularly travel on rough roads, trails, or loose surfaces.
