Graphic Designer
Job Description
Applying for a new job takes trust, so we want to give you a good idea of what working at Koch is actually like.
We’re a small in-house marketing and technology team, which means you’ll have a lot of ownership over your work and your designs will actually get used. You’ll work across multiple brands and projects, from digital advertising and web creative to print, branding, events and dealership campaigns.
We offer flexibility in how you structure your day, but we also expect people to be accountable, communicate well and get things done without needing constant direction.

Who Are We?
We’re Koch Auto Group, a family-owned automotive group based in Edmonton, Canada. We’ve been in business for over 50 years and employ over 300 people.
Our in-house team supports brands including Ford, Lincoln and Airstream across multiple dealerships. We handle a large part of our creative, advertising, web and digital work ourselves instead of outsourcing everything to agencies.
We believe in small teams. There’s less bureaucracy, fewer layers and more opportunity to actually make things.
Design is an important part of how we market our dealerships and brands, so this isn’t a role where you’ll spend all day resizing someone else’s templates. You’ll have the opportunity to contribute ideas, develop creative and see your work used across real campaigns.
Who Are You?
We’re looking for a designer who genuinely likes design.
Someone who notices typography, spacing, hierarchy, branding and the little details other people might overlook. You should enjoy taking an idea or creative brief and turning it into something clear, polished and effective.
This is a design role, not a general marketing position. You don’t need to be a social media manager, PPC specialist, copywriter and developer all at once.
You should be comfortable working independently, taking feedback and managing multiple projects at the same time.
AI tools are also becoming part of our creative workflow. We don’t expect AI to replace design thinking or creative judgment, but you should be comfortable learning and using new tools that can make the creative process faster or better.
What You’ll Work On
You’ll work closely with our marketing team to create and maintain creative across the Koch Auto Group, including:
- Digital advertising creative for Google, Meta and other platforms
- Website graphics and digital assets
- Social media creative
- Email and CRM graphics
- Print advertising and dealership materials
- Event creative and signage
- Promotional materials and point-of-sale assets
- Brand identity and brand consistency
- OEM campaigns and dealership offers
- Creative variations, resizing and production work
- Supporting UX and web projects with visual assets
- Photo editing and image production
- Occasional video/motion creative depending on your experience
You’ll also help organize creative assets and make sure our brands remain consistent across channels.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma or degree in Graphic Design or a related design program
- A portfolio demonstrating strong design fundamentals
- Strong working knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud
- Strong understanding of typography, layout, composition and visual hierarchy
- Ability to work within established brand guidelines
- Strong attention to detail
- Good written and verbal communication
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
- Comfortable working independently and taking ownership of your work
- Willingness to learn new creative tools and workflows
Nice to Have
These aren’t requirements, but they’re helpful:
- Experience designing digital advertising
- Experience working with established brands or brand guidelines
- Automotive experience
- Figma experience
- Video editing or motion graphics
- Photography or photo editing experience
- Basic understanding of web/UX design
- Experience using AI-assisted creative tools
How We Work
Our team moves fairly quickly.
You’ll have projects and priorities, but we’re not going to schedule your entire day for you. We expect you to manage your workload, communicate when you need something and keep projects moving.
You’ll work directly with our internal marketing, UX and development team, so your work won’t disappear into an approval chain with five different departments.
We care about the final product more than unnecessary meetings.

If the role sounds like something you’d enjoy, we’d like to see your work.
